which is the best ski resort in the world in terms of skiing and après-ski?
Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I'm biased towards off-piste terrain and gentle noisy bars where the good times roll. But Colorado has a wider stage of skiing. Tahoe is not bad, but the nightlife is a little off in the lake.

Kid-Ski Kiddie Lift (ages 1-5) $24.95 Ski & Snowboard Accessories Designed for both safety and convenience, the Kiddie Lift is a shoulder harness with a handle on the back that allows you to lift your child in a very convenient, comfortable way. The Kiddie Lift is intended for loading kids on to chairlifts easily and safely, holding them on the lift, unloading them at the top, picking them up off the snow after falls, and turning them around to reverse direction. Essentially, you have full control of your child with one hand (a luxury you may want to use all day, every day of the year). Other Uses of the Kiddie Lift Besides skiing, the Kiddie Lift works great for other winter outdoor activities like snowboarding, ice skating, sledding and roller blading. It also works well anytime of the year for ages 1-3 in crowded places like airports, shopping malls and Disney World. It’s great for popping toddlers in and out of strollers, and out of awkward predicaments. Finally, use this when teaching your child to ride a bike with no training wheels. It allows the child to steer the bike without you holding on to the handlebars and as a parent you don't have to bend over to hold the bike from tipping over. We've used this at Snowshack with our kids and it works great! |

Ski to Die $17.98 Bill Johnson took the world by storm at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics, coming out of nowhere to win the first American gold medal in downhill skiing. He went on to dominate the World Cup races that same year. His success made him an overnight celebrity, but his fame was fleeting. He never won another race, and personal tragedy seemed to follow him at every turn. With his post-Olympic life spiraling out of control, Johnson decided to do the unthinkable — make a comeback at the age of forty. He had his motto, “Ski to Die,” tattooed on his right bicep. In a race at Big Mountain, fearless and in the lead with one turn to go, Johnson crashed face-first into the icy mountain at fifty miles per hour. Ski to Die is a story about the cost of chasing dreams. It is about glory and the attempt to recapture it once it is lost. More than a cautionary tale, Ski to Die is a rise-fall-rise-again story — because against all odds, Bill Johnson’s story doesn’t end at Big Mountain. |
