What is the best combination of glove / gloves / bags to keep hands and fingers warm during the winter skiing?

It is what I used as a line of gloves now for the last 5 seasons: http://www.shopatron.com/product/part_number=WSLU-10/393.0 is very thin and very strong wind. I was alone (without the lid shell) in the time up to 9 F before being cold. I wear under a Gore-Tex Mitts by Outdoor Research. Mine are no longer manufactured, but they are nearby, I used these http://www.outdoorresearch.com/site/cornice_mitts.html New England, mountaineering and ski trips in winter when the weather was well below 0F and the wind was going about 40 mph. (That's-40F) and I was getting cold at this time. I prefer to use a glove into a mitt thin, because that is much warmer than a single glove, and if I take off the gloves, I have a fine glove underneath to keep me warm while I fuss with zippers, buckles, pieces collage etc., etc.
